10 of the best things to do in Vancouver this week (November 8-12)

Ah, another weekend has passed… we’d almost be mad if we didn’t have a full week of fun to look forward to in Vancouver! Our goal this week? To have enough to do, we don’t even notice the rain. It is a great hope, but we are ready to try to realize it.

Here are the best things to do in Vancouver this week.

We have a few free options for you to check out! Lumière is back for its 6th season and has expanded to Granville Island and the Bentall Center in addition to Jim Deva Plaza and English Bay. This is the perfect way to get away from a dinner in downtown Vancouver, in our opinion.

Or: Places around Vancouver
Cost: To free!

Cultural exploration of the East

This iconic art festival turns 25 this month! Naturally, attendees go out of their way by offering virtual events, gallery tours, workshops and more. It’s that simple: if you love art, you’ll love the Eastside Culture Crawl.

Polygon gallery

For our last artistic pick this week, we have the Polygon gallery. It currently has a small exhibit on Vancouver’s punk subculture, so you’re guaranteed to see some interesting photos when you visit. Plus, who doesn’t love a rainy SeaBus ride there?

Reflections: the winter terrace

It’s been a long time since this iconic Vancouver open-air restaurant opened for the winter. But guess what? He’s coming back this week. Check it out for a late lunch with friends, before everyone else gets wind of it and it’s booked weeks in advance.

City and color

We’ll never get over the fact that City and Color was predeceased by Alexisonfire, but we still love what Dallas Green has to offer. Go relax at the Queen Elizabeth Theater with some calm tunes and enjoy her beautiful voice up close!

Or: 630 Hamilton Street
Cost: $ 100 and more

Vancouver Asian Film Festival

Whether you’ve watched VIFF and craved more or have been looking forward to it for some time, the Vancouver Asian Film Festival is a simple yes from us. After all, there is much more to Asian filmmakers than Parasite and Squid game.

Poppy barley pop-up

Sustainable Canadian brand Poppy Barley is hosting an in-person pop-up store in Flax Home’s new showroom in Vancouver.
