Irina Shayk’s dress, boyfriend shirt and sandals are perfect for summer – Footwear News

We can always count on Irina Shayk for an effortless street style look.

On Tuesday, the model and her daughter Lea Cooper took a walk in New York City. For the casual outing, Shayk sported a stable wardrobe: a little black dress. The dress featured gathered sides and a drawstring hem.

For years, if not decades, little black dresses have proven to be indispensable. The style is timeless as it can be paired with virtually anything and worn in spring, summer, fall and winter.

Giving her little black dress a casual touch, Shayk layered the mini under a classic white button. The star wore the “boyfriend” style shirt, which was almost the same length as her dress, open, adding to the relaxed feel. Shayk then accessorized layered necklaces, silver hoops, and a chain shoulder bag.

As for the shoes, Shayk continued the comfortable theme with a pair of chunky black sandals from Burberry. The shoes are made of leather and feature two straps on the feet as well as the brand’s monogram design in gold. Although coming from a luxury brand, Shayk’s sandals can be categorized as an iteration of the ‘ugly’ sandal trend.

“Ugly” sandals get their name from their often chunky construction and bulky straps. The look, which has been on the fashion scene for some time, saw a revitalization last year as shoppers began to lean on comfortable shoes amid the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, the silhouettes of Birkenstock, Teva and Crocs have become increasingly popular with luxury brands like Burberry, Prada and Chanel who are launching their own versions.
