Kate Hudson wore thigh-high boots under her dress for an unexpected look

Kate Hudson is on a mission to bring nostalgic shoe trends to life. In April 2022, she wore a pair of barely there PVC heels in a campaign for Stuart Weitzman. Now, Hudson’s thigh-high boots, which she wore earlier this week, could very well inspire a legion of fans and other celebs to follow suit by rocking the style for fall. The actor incorporated the in addition high shoe in its recent outfit, giving the sultry yet timeless shoe its stamp of approval.

At first glance, the photo of Hudson’s outfit on Instagram looked cute, but not out of the ordinary until she pulled up her dress to reveal the aforementioned boots underneath. Hudson chose a patent leather version of Stuart Weitzman’s Ultrastuart 100 boot, which featured a long shaft, pointed toe and four-inch stiletto heel. She wore the boots with a black and red spiral-print midi dress by Proenza Schouler, which featured delicate gathers on the sleeves and bodice. Her choice of thigh-high shoes was a smart choice, as the shiny material added a touch of glamor to an otherwise simple look.

All the evidence suggests that thigh high boots are all the rage among celebrities right now. Take Kim Kardashian, who wore the same boots in Stuart Weitzman’s Fall 2022 campaign just over a week ago. Street style aficionados will also note that Rihanna also embraced the trend earlier in August, when she wore a pair of ultra-high boots that could have rivaled Balenciaga’s viral pantaleggings.

However, thigh-high boots have been a longtime staple for Hudson. For proof, take a look at her street style ensembles from 2016, which she wore when the shoe was arguably its heyday. At the time, she rocked her gray Stuart Weitzman Highland boots with a pair of skinny jeans. Skinny denim pants have since fallen out of favor, but the actor sticks to the tall boot style, signaling that the shoe is here to stay.
