Sneaker Press Release Updates March 12, 2022

Although it’s been a busy week for sneaker news, much of it could be summed up in two words: “Nike Dunks.”

Designed in 1985 by Peter Moore, the silhouette has garnered unprecedented attention over the past four years. High-profile collaborations and Nike SB releases continue to build on the model’s lore, but the Dunk started 2022 with dozens of solo efforts that were more accessible than previous drops, allowing some consumers who previously could not participate in his legacy to finally do so. Something remarkable about the sneaker race over the past three months has been the number of kid-exclusive colorways. The Air Force 1, which is celebrating its anniversary, has also been guilty of teasing a handful of new styles for the little ones, but not quite up to the 37-year-old Moore’s design. On the Air Jordan side of the business, NIKE, Inc. has grabbed sneaker headlines throughout the year with a mix of original and new styles. The Air Jordan 2 “Chicago” is set to return in near-OG form for the first time since 1986. An Air Jordan 3 dressed in a colorway reminiscent of Neapolitan ice cream ushers in new flavors (no pun intended) for the 34-year-old Silhouette.

Far from any swoosh and Jumpman brand, the New Balance 550 had an exceptional week. Aimé Leon Dore teased three new colorways of the shoe as part of his Spring 2022 collection. Some Yeezys are rumored to be keeping YZY SZN, while an adidas-branded Balenciaga Triple-S sneaker has fans scratching their heads. of sneakers.
